The Kellogg School of Management, named in honor of a 1979 gift from the John L. and Helen Kellogg Foundation, announced April 1 that it would be dropping its famous moniker in favor of another grain-based appellation—the General Mills School of Management.
Insiders close to the decision say the powers that be felt the name had a good run and that it was time for a change.
“Corn Flakes are tasty and all,” said our anonymous source, “But Cheerios can help lower your cholesterol. Pairing our school’s sterling reputation with a company known for healthy brands—including Wheeties, Fiber One, and Dora the Explorer (which is packed with 25 percent of the recommended daily allowance of thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, and zinc)—just seemed like a good thing to do.”
The Kellogg School was not the only famous institution that rebranded themselves on April 1. Search giant Google announced its new name—Topeka.
That was the best April Fool’s joke of the day. Still wondering 80/20 if it’s a joke. haha
