Israeli firm trials battery-swapping for electric cars

Yael Hochberg links to an article on Better Place, an Israeli company that is hoping to eliminate “range anxiety” for electric car owners by building a network of battery-swapping stations. Instead of filling up your tank, you exchange your depleted battery for a charged one. It’s similar to how many stores exchange propane cylinders for gas grills, though on a much larger scale and with more logistical headaches.
